ETHICAL HUNTING

At Avula Safaris, we understand the future of hunting lies in responsible and ethical conduct. We strive to uphold and share this with all those who adventure with us.

THE CODE WE FOLLOW

The hunter’s code of ethics

We pride ourselves in passing on the ethical hunting tradition. We care for the environment, respect the game hunted, follow the law, and make safety our priority to leave a positive influence on future hunters. Hunting ethics can be defined as moral principles upheld by the modern hunter to ensure the survival of wildlife as well as to ensure that hunting areas stay open and accessible and hunters are welcome.

WE DO IT RIGHT, EVEN IF NO ONE IS WATCHING

We strive to adhere to the highest quality standards of responsibility in the field at all times and to promote and support conservation through responsible and sustainable hunting. We are committed to keeping the traditions of fair chase hunting alive and not hunting in any manner that is detrimental to the conservation status of any wildlife species. It’s part of our dedication to uplift the integrity of all hunting practices today, tomorrow and beyond.

FROM HUNTERS TO CONSERVATIONISTS

CONSERVE THE

SKY ABOVE.

EARTH BELOW.

FIRE WITHIN.

We believe that this land is not given to us by our fathers but is borrowed from our children. We, as hunters, have a responsibility to maintain the ecological balance.

At Avula, we burn with true passion to make this a reality – not just for today but for always.
Our efforts include initiatives like Rhino conservation, best land-use practices, and ensuring that any leftover or left behind game meat is fed to local South African communities in need.

PROTECT

AND CONSERVE

Today, South Africa’s rhino population is being poached on a daily basis. At this rate, there will not be a rhino population for future generations to marvel at. At Avula, we are committed to preventing this from happening. Our efforts include the de-horning of rhinos to discourage poachers. The de-horning process is conducted by a trained vet and is completely painless for the rhino as there is no feeling in the horn. The running costs of such a project are extremely high, taking into account feeding, security personnel, leasing property and managerial maintenance. Avula contributes to the initiative via hunting packages that are donated to several charity events, with all funds being directly forwarded to the non-profit organisation  – Rhino For Life Foundation in South Africa. If you would like to or are able to contribute to this worthwhile initiative or would like any further information, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.
