Ethical hunting means using the whole animal. As ethical hunters, we respect the environment and wildlife. Ensuring that nothing from a harvest goes to waste is the highest form of respect. It is not just about the trophy. All the meat harvested at Avula Safaris gets utilized in some way that ends up feeding or sustaining much more than just Avula.
The finest cuts are set aside and masterfully prepared to your exact liking by Avula’s chefs. Some of the meat goes to staff and their families, and some is processed and sold. The bulk of the harvest, however, is donated to schools, feeding schemes, and charities in surrounding local communities with which we’ve developed relationships. Giving back to the community is a core value of Avula Safaris.
Giving Back is far more rewarding than receiving
Guests are welcome and encouraged to accompany Avula staff when they make these donations. It’s an emotional and life-affirming experience, having the opportunity to improve the lives of those who need it the most, by giving back to the less fortunate.
